Question 1

What is ImageToExcel?

Accepted Answer

ImageToExcel is a document data extraction service designed to turn supported images, PDFs, screenshots, and scanned documents into structured text, tables, fields, or Excel-ready data.

Question 2

How do I convert an image to Excel?

Accepted Answer

1. Open the Image to Excel tool. 2. Upload a supported image. 3. Let the service recognize and structure the data. 4. Review the extracted rows, columns, and values. 5. Export the result to Excel.

Question 3

Can I convert a JPG to Excel?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Upload a JPG or JPEG image and extract tables or structured fields into Excel.

Question 4

Can I convert a PNG to Excel?

Accepted Answer

Yes. PNG screenshots and images can be converted into structured Excel data.

Question 5

Can I convert a screenshot to Excel?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Screenshot tables can be extracted into editable Excel rows and columns.

Question 6

Can ImageToExcel extract tables from images?

Accepted Answer

Yes. ImageToExcel can recognize table-like layouts and organize values into rows and columns. Results still depend on image quality, contrast, and layout complexity.

Question 7

Can it preserve rows and columns?

Accepted Answer

The system tries to keep logical table structure. Complex layouts, merged cells, rotated pages, or low-quality scans may need manual review before you use the spreadsheet.

Question 8

Can I convert a PDF to Excel?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Upload a PDF and extract tables or structured data into an Excel spreadsheet.

Question 9

Can I convert a scanned PDF to Excel?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Scanned PDFs usually need OCR first so the text becomes machine-readable, then you can structure the result for Excel.

Question 10

What is OCR?

Accepted Answer

OCR stands for Optical Character Recognition. It converts text visible in an image or scanned document into machine-readable text.

Question 11

What is the difference between OCR and data extraction?

Accepted Answer

OCR answers “what text appears?” — for example: INV-1042, Acme Inc., $1,240.00. Data extraction answers “what does each value mean?” — for example: Invoice Number = INV-1042, Vendor = Acme Inc., Total = $1,240.00. OCR produces readable text. Structured extraction maps that text into fields, rows, and columns for Excel.

Question 12

Does ImageToExcel support multi-page PDFs?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Multi-page PDFs are supported for OCR and table extraction workflows. Very large documents may take longer to process, and you should review results across pages.

Question 13

What file formats are supported?

Accepted Answer

Supported inputs include JPG/JPEG, PNG, WEBP, and PDF (including many scanned PDFs). Choose the tool that best matches your file type.

Question 14

What is the maximum file size?

Accepted Answer

Upload limits depend on the tool and account settings. As a practical guide, many uploads are limited to around 10 MB per file (limits may vary by tool and account). If a file is rejected, try a smaller export or contact support.

Question 15

Are there page limits for PDFs?

Accepted Answer

Page limits can vary by tool and plan. If a PDF cannot be processed, try fewer pages, a clearer scan, or contact support for help.

Question 16

Does ImageToExcel work on mobile?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The site is designed to work in modern mobile browsers so you can upload and convert files on phone or tablet. A larger screen can make reviewing tables easier.

Question 17

Do I need to install software?

Accepted Answer

No desktop install is required. ImageToExcel runs in your browser as a web service.

Question 18

Can ImageToExcel extract line items?

Accepted Answer

Yes. For supported document structures, repeating items can be organized as structured rows instead of one block of plain text.

Question 19

Can I review extracted data before exporting?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Review extracted values before you download or use them in Excel. Important numbers should always be checked.

Question 20

Can ImageToExcel extract data from bank statements?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Bank Statement use case is designed to extract supported statement and transaction fields into structured Excel data for review.

Question 21

Can it extract invoice data?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Use the Invoice Data Extraction use case for vendor details, totals, and line items where the layout is supported.

Question 22

Can it extract receipt data?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Receipt photos and scans can be converted into structured expense fields and Excel rows.

Question 23

Can it extract vendor statement data?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Vendor Statement Reconciliation extracts statement activity such as invoices, payments, credits, and balances into structured rows for review. It prepares data for reconciliation — it does not automatically complete full accounting reconciliation.

Question 24

Can it extract credit card statement data?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Credit Card Reconciliation extracts supported statement transaction fields into Excel for review. It does not automatically reconcile every card transaction against your books.

Question 25

How accurate is the OCR and data extraction?

Accepted Answer

Accuracy depends on factors such as scan quality, image resolution, document layout, text clarity, table complexity, and the information present in the original file. OCR and AI extraction can make mistakes, so important values should be reviewed before use. ImageToExcel does not claim 100% accuracy or error-free extraction.

Question 26

Why is some extracted data incorrect?

Accepted Answer

Common causes include low resolution, blurred text, rotated pages, shadows, handwriting, complex tables, merged cells, unusual fonts, poor scans, and ambiguous numeric characters.

Question 27

How can I improve extraction accuracy?

Accepted Answer

Upload the original PDF when possible, use clear high-resolution images, avoid cropping key fields, keep pages upright, reduce glare and shadows, choose the most relevant tool or use case, and review important values before export.

Question 28

Are my uploaded files private?

Accepted Answer

Uploaded files are processed to provide the OCR, extraction, or conversion service you request. How files are handled, retained, and shared with processors is described in our Privacy Policy. We do not publish an unverified fixed public deletion timer on the FAQ.

Question 29

How long are uploaded files stored?

Accepted Answer

Retention for uploaded files and extracted results follows operational needs for providing the service, security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and legal requirements. See the Privacy Policy for the current description — we do not invent a fixed “delete after N hours” claim here.

Question 30

Are uploaded files used to train AI models?

Accepted Answer

ImageToExcel processes uploads to provide the service you request. Whether ImageToExcel or third-party AI/OCR providers use uploads for model training depends on provider settings and contracts. See the Privacy Policy, and contact support for a written compliance confirmation if needed.

Question 31

Can I delete uploaded files or extracted data?

Accepted Answer

Deletion options depend on account and product features. See the Privacy Policy for how to request deletion and what happens when an account is removed.

Question 32

What should I do if a file cannot be processed?

Accepted Answer

Check that the format is supported, the image is clear and upright, and the file is within size or page limits. If it still fails, contact support — avoid emailing sensitive financial documents unless support specifically asks for a safe way to share them.

Question 33

How can I contact ImageToExcel?

Accepted Answer

Email support@imagetoexcel.io for product questions and assistance.

Question 34

Do I need an account to use ImageToExcel?

Accepted Answer

You can explore many conversion tools from the website. Some features, history, or higher limits may require signing in when account features are enabled.

How do I create an account?

Accepted Answer

When sign-up is available, use the account options on the site to create an account with your email or supported sign-in method.

Question 36

How do I delete my account?

Account deletion and related data handling are described in the Privacy Policy. Contact support if you need help with an account deletion request.

Accepted Answer

Confirm you are using the correct email, try resetting your password if that option is available, and contact support if you remain locked out.
